Know which water to use—and when.

Five-water models produce the categories below. The strong acidic and strong alkaline modes require the specified electrolysis enhancer and proper operation. Approximate pH values vary with the source water and machine settings.

ORP describes water chemistry and does not itself measure health benefit or dissolved-hydrogen dose. A water ionizer needs a suitable potable supply; ionization does not replace contaminant-specific filtration or required disinfection. Follow public-health instructions for infant-formula preparation; neutral pH does not mean sterile water.

WQA Gold Seal: check the exact listing

Enagic’s published WQA Gold Seal listing identifies LeveLuk K8 and SD501/TYH-401 entries with NSF/ANSI 42 and NSF/ANSI/CAN 372. Standard 42 concerns specified aesthetic water-treatment claims; 372 concerns lead content of components, not lead-removal performance.

Gold Seal is a product-certification program, not a general “healthiest water” award. Do not extend those listed claims to all Enagic models, other cartridges, PFAS removal, medical benefits, or NSF/ANSI 53/58 performance. Can I use an ionizer with reverse osmosis?

A correctly designed combination may be possible, but RO water can lack the mineral content needed for electrolysis. We review remineralization, TDS, pressure, flow, and Enagic’s operating requirements before proposing a connection.
